Kained Collaborates with West to Launch Their Own ‘Apache’ Pilsner
Bar & Restaurant Operators Kained and WEST, Glasgow’s favourite independent brewery have collaborated to create Kained’s own brand of 4.2% Pilsner ‘Apache’.
A 4.2%, crisp, citrusy pilsner brewed with extra pale cara pils malt with Willamette, chinook and sterling hops, the recipe for Apache Pilsner has been created to Kained’s Specifications by WEST in conjunction with senior figures from Kained. Months of consultation and a run of 3 different brews sought to create a modern session pilsner that will pair well with good food.
WEST owner Petra Wetzel said: “Given we are called WEST, love all things Wild West and have a sense of adventure, we think the name Kained has chosen for our bespoke 4.2% lager fits perfectly, by name and concept, into everything we do here on Glasgow Green!
“My granddad George would approve: he used to read stories about Apaches to me when I was little!”
Graham Suttle, MD at Kained Holdings said: “Kained & West go way back and we are delighted with this collaboration. We wanted to smash through all the craft noise, cut the bull and make a beer you can really drink, so there was no one else we would have approached on this. Its local, small batches and above all else its really really drinkable. The result it epic.”
“This is a further commitment to local produce and innovation that offers our customers something truly unique. Apache Pilsner will be a fantastic addition to our offering.”
Apache Pilsner will be available in all Kained holdings venues (Finnieston, Porter & Rye, Lebowskis West, Lebowskis South, Crafty Pig and Crosslands) from 16th September. It will also be available in Kained’s new venue, The Drugstore Social soon to open on Old Dumbarton Road.
