Join Ginger & Chilli for a Scottish Supper Club with an Asian Twist…
Glasgow has seen a rise in “Pop Up” kitchens recently, from shopping centre food courts to food vans, from waffles to bao buns. Our vibrant city is one proud to showcase delicious, good quality food from local start-up businesses.
Ginger & Chilli are no exception, described as “exploring the culinary delights of Scotland & Asia”, they have been running Pop Up Supper Clubs at The Drake, near Glasgow’s Charing Cross, since April this year.
During this time Ginger & Chilli have served exquisite Scottish & Asian fusion menus including; shoulder of lamb jaffna, spiced cullen skink with curry leaves and home smoked hake, peat smoke salted caramel ice-cream, venison rendang with lemongrass and sticky coconut chutney.
Founder Ronan’s love for Indian cuisine is his main inspiration behind the Asian influence on his menu, since discovering Indian restaurants when he moved to Glasgow from Derry at the age of 18. However, it is not only Indian food that shows through in his menus, “although my heart is with Indian food, I want Ginger & Chilli to be a celebration of all things Asian”. Ronan describes himself as being “captivated” once realising the possibilities when fusing Asian food with Scottish produce, whether it’s “langoustines from the West Coast, pork from the Bridge of Orchy or venison from Roy Bridge”.
Mouth watering yet? Well you will be glad to know that Ginger & Chilli have announced their sixth event at The Drake.
