The Dude of all burgers has to be Lebowskis. Go for The Big Lebowski if you’re brave enough, or try the Filet O’ Crab for something a bit different. Founded by Kiwis, this is one ‘sweet as’ burger joint. As if chicken, beef, lamb and buffalo weren’t enough meat choices, they also do a pork and chorizo burger called The Salvador. Wash it down with NZ classic drink L&P.

If it’s a midnight snack you’re after, Porter & Rye have a Late Menu until 1am. Go for the 10oz Aged Meat Burger, much better than a dodgy kebab.

What started off a small, side-street takeaway joint has now turned into a restaurant and multiple takeaways. Go for the Duke Burger – double cheeseburger topped with pulled pork.
