Police Search for Karen Buckley Intensifies
Police have apparently asked a second man, seen chatting to Karen Buckley on CCTV, to get in contact with them.
The 24 year old Occupational Therapy student went missing from Dumbarton Road’s, Sanctuary nightclub, around 1am on Saturday night, shortly after saying to friends she was going to use the toilet.
Friends are becoming increasingly worried, as Ms Buckley’s disappearance is highly out of character, she also left the club without grabbing her jacket and then failed to text or notify any of her friends about the reason for her sudden departure.
She was last seen on CCTV walking toward Church Street on Dumbarton Road.
Inspector Gavin Smith from Police Scotland said: “Friends reported Karen missing on Sunday 12 April after feeling her behaviour to not return home was very out of character. Her friends say she would always contact them by text or phone to let them know where was and she doesn’t appear to have contacted anyone.”
Police have failed to deny that they are hoping to speak to a second man spotted talking to Karen on CCTV.
According to Breakingnews.ie, Police Scotland have located the first person they wished to speak to during their enquiries and are now seeking a second male.
Irish born Karen’s parents have flown over from Cork to help detectives search for the missing Caledonian University student.
Inspector Smith said: “We are interested in speaking to anyone who may have seen Karen in the early hours of Sunday morning in the west end of Glasgow in order to help with our enquiries to locate her.”
Dark haired, 5ft3 Karen, was last seen wearing an all in one black jumpsuit, red high heels and was carrying a black handbag.
Police are requesting that anyone with information in relation to Karen’s whereabouts or who might have seen her following her departure from Sanctuary to contact them on 101.
The Facebook page titled “Please help us find Karen missing in Glasgow”, has so far received nearly 22, 500 likes, and a social media campaign has also been launched.
