5 Things to do on the 5th November for Bonfire Night!
Remember, remember the 5th of November! It’s the night of the year where we get all wrapped up and choose to stand out in the freezin’ cold! Fireworks can be fun and spectacular to watch, but let’s remember to keep safe and choose to watch them at an organised firework display. Here are the top five free firework displays in and around Glasgow…
Saturday 5th November, 5pm, Glasgow Green
The annual Bonfire Night celebration at Glasgow Green is back! Wrap up warm and head ‘doon tae the green’ for the biggest organised display in Scotland. The pre-show is at 6:30pm and the fireworks will start at 7:30pm. There will be merchandise and food stalls as well as the funfair. For more information, click here. Heavy traffic expected in and around the area, so best to plan ahead and try to use any available public transport.
Saturday 5th November, 7pm-9pm, Levengrove Park
With fireworks including comets, mines, spinners, hummers and dragon’s eggs, you won’t want to miss this display at Dumbarton.The event starts at 7pm, with the fireworks display starting at 7.30pm. For more information, click here.
Saturday 5th November, 4:30pm-8:30pm, Strathclyde Country Park
Celebrate Guy Fawkes Night at Strathclyde Country Park for an amazing display. There will be a funfair run by M&Ds which is open from 4:30pm, and live music and entertainment from 6pm. There will also be a bonfire lit at 6:45pm before the fireworks starting at 7:15pm. Just give yourself plenty of time due to the roadworks at Raith Interchange. For more information, click here.
Saturday 5th November, 4pm-8:30pm, Drumchapel Park
This Saturday there will be a fun-filled family event at Drumchapel Park. As well as a fireworks display, there will be live music, funfair rides and a special visit from Titan the Robot. Saturday 5th November, 2pm-7pm, Paisley Town Centre
Kicking off the celebrations earlier than the others at 2pm, Paisley Fireworks Spectacular looks set to be a great day out. With hits from 60’s and 70’s as well as entertainment from Capital FM, there will also be a funfair and kids entertainers. For more information, click here.
